CBDA needed clear, compelling marketing materials to help consumers and policymakers better understand the value and impact of the Three-Tier System.
Project Details
The Colorado Beer Distributors Association (CBDA) is the statewide trade organization representing beer distributors and advocating for the Three-Tier System. This system ensures that manufacturers sell to wholesalers, wholesalers distribute to retailers, and products ultimately reach consumers. While essential to the health and safety of the industry, the system is often misunderstood by the public and policymakers.
CBDA recognized the need to better communicate the economic and community impact of this structure, which supports nearly 8,000 jobs and contributes more than $1.5 billion to Colorado’s economy. To strengthen its advocacy and outreach efforts, the organization partnered with Outside Voice to refresh its marketing collateral and create clearer, more engaging educational tools.
We worked closely with CBDA’s member distributors across the state to capture authentic, real-world photography of their operations. These images formed the foundation of a refreshed visual library that reflects the people, places, and processes behind Colorado’s beer distribution network.
We also designed a leave-behind booklet that clearly explains how the Three-Tier System works and why it matters. The publication breaks down key concepts in an easy-to-follow format while highlighting economic benefits, regulatory compliance, public safety, and community support. The result is a piece that balances education with strong visual storytelling.
